Langley Horse and Farm Federation is hosting a talk on Sunday entitled “Dispelling the Myths,” which will cover the subject of horse seizures by the B.C. SPCA.
Speaker is Shawn Eccles, manager of cruelty investigations for the B.C. SPCA. He will talk about the issues revolving around horse seizures and the current provision of facilities in B.C.
Horse and other farm animal seizures are a serious issue in B.C. As there are a large number of horses in Langley, the Horse Capital of B.C., the federation wants to educate the community on this matter.
Having Eccles available to answer questions and concerns will help clarify and correct misinformation that circulates throughout the community.
He will speak for 30 minutes in the indoor arena at Thunderbird Show Park on Sunday, from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. After that he will be available at the Langley Horse and Farm Federation booth until about 1 p.m. to answer questions on this issue and other topics involving farm animals.
The talk is part of the varied activities taking place during the 2015 Horseman’s Bazaar and Country Fair, which is presented by the Lower Mainland Quarter Horse Association.
