A Langley home is up for grabs, in an effort to help sick kids from across the province.
BC Children’s Hospital Foundation is in the throws of its 2024 Choices Lottery, and the winner will have their pick of nine grand prize homes (including the one in Langley) or the option of taking $2.3 million in tax-free cash.
The Langley grand prize is a townhome in the Crofton development, an 80-unit complex on 76th Avenue and 208th Street – situated in the heart of the Willoughby’s Yorkson neighbourhood. It’s a four-bedroom, three-and-a-half bath, 2,097-square-foot unit that is worth more than $2.5 million, and available this August.
While a Langley home, like usual, is among the lottery prize offerings, other grand prize homes on the list include one in the Ocean Park neighbourhood of South Surrey, as well as two in Vancouver, and one in Burnaby, Courtenay, Sooke, Kelowna, and Big White.
According to Aldergrove’s own Erin Cebula, the Choices Lottery celebrity spokesperson, 94 per cent of the tickets are sold, with only days left.
“BC Children’s Hospital is the only hospital of its kind in the province, tackling the most complex physical and mental health challenges facing kids today,” Cebula said, explaining that proceeds from the lottery go towards necessary research initiatives at BC Children’s.
“Your support of Choices Lottery plays a pivotal role in accelerating the translation of research discoveries. And beyond propelling this work, your contribution also empowers researchers to dream even bigger,” she added.
Lottery funds help accelerate the pace of research, turning discoveries into life-saving treatments and helping more kids get back to being kids, foundation president and CEO Malcolm Berry elaborated.
