Second World War veteran Glen Allan of Aldergrove chats with Mark Ivens and Dean Fraser (both dressed in the traditional uniforms of the Canadian 1st Parachute Battalion) during an event marking the 70th anniversary of the D-Day invasion, held in Chilliwack.
The uniforms, and a flyby from a Buffalo search and rescue aircraft, were intended to honour the 450 Canadains who parachuted into Normandy in advance of the invasion by 14,000 Canadians at Juno Beach, June 6, 1944.
