The Rotary Club of Abbotsford-Sumas holds its 28th annual strawberry sale to fund projects in local communities.

The sale started on May 4 and runs for five weeks, featuring fresh strawberries that are washed, sliced and packed in their own juices – no sugar added.

They are available in a five-kilogram (11-pound) pail for $48 or a 13.5-kilogram (30-pound) pail for $90. They can be frozen in smaller sizes for later use.

The strawberries are available for pickup at four Fraser Valley locations:

• June 8 at Mission Secondary (order by June 2) at the bus loop off Grand Street;

• June 8 at Chilliwack Alliance Church (order by June 2), 8700 Young Rd.;

• June 8 at Langley Mall (order by June 2), 5501 204 St.; and

• June 15 at Abbotsford Pentecostal Assembly (order by June 9), 3145 Gladwin Rd.

Pickup times for each location are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There are also pickup locations in Burnaby and the Tri-Cities.

Orders can be done online at abbotsfordsumasrotary.org.

Other participating clubs include Abbotsford, Abbotsford-Matsqui, Mission, Langley-Sunrise, Burnaby-Deer Lake, and Tri-Cities.

Rotary is a global network of 1.4 million people. The money raised through various projects is used in local communities, with a focus on youth, literacy, health and poverty.
