As I’m flying along to the Veterans and Senior’s Club I’m thinking of an old quote; “rain, rain, go away, come again another day.” And it works, the showers lessen and I get there all dry and ready for dinner and a good card game.
This leads me to advise the seniors in Aldergrove to come down to the club for noon dinner and the socialization of a good card game.
Crib last Monday at the OAP Hall was not as well attended as the first two sessions but it was a good afternoon and those who claim to be learners are doing very well. Dave’s lunch half way into the game is an excellent break and his raisin bread bests all others.
The bridge game on Friday evening would welcome some newcomers so stop by the OAP Hall and enjoy a game of bridge.
Stars of the week were Don and Lois Marshall. In regular bridge they came in first and in partnership bridge they were winners again. So, congratulations, Lois and Don.
Don’t forget the fourth Sunday of March is the pot luck at the OAP Hall. Our pot lucks are popular and some of the greatest dishes can be found there; imagine, stuffed peppers, shepherd’s pie, baked beans, devilled eggs, and on and on it goes. You can enjoy a game of card bingo after dinner so join us on Sunday, March 27.
Carpet bowling has had a few less players the last two weeks, but everyone seems to enjoy the game and feel they benefit from the exercise. Come and join us on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
The cook at the Veterans and Seniors Club is to be congratulated for his good meals this week; roast pork, salmon and on Friday a delicious turkey dinner.
You can’t do better than a nourishing noon meal at the club.
Items for the summer sale are coming in slowly, but if you are spring cleaning and wanting to downgrade bring in some of your items you no longer use. Marlene is anxious to get them sorted out.
To all those who are having a tough time with health problems we want you to know you are in our thoughts.
Wear your greens on Thursday and celebrate St. Patrick’s’ Day.
Dates to remember: the Veterans and Seniors general meeting is Monday, March 21 at 10:30 a.m. The OAPO general meeting is always the first Friday of the Month which is April 1, April fool’s Day this time.
This is the Senior’s News for this week.

His quick thinking opponent was heard to quip, “It appears my opponent has lost his head.”
