Giving Tree: Tags with gift wishes of seniors at Jackman Manor are on a Christmas tree at the Save-On Foods in Aldergrove, 26310 Fraser Hwy. Public can take a tag, purchase the gifts, and return them unwrapped with the tag before Dec. 19 or leave a donation at customer service so the gifts can be purchased.

Critter Care Christmas Store: Pick up unique holiday items at the wildlife rehabilitation shelter, 481 216th St., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. between Dec. 4 and 17. Purchases help wildlife society care for the animals. Info: crittercarewildlife.org.

Christmas in Williams Park: Drive through display at 238th Street and 68th Avenue is open 5 to 9 p.m. daily from Dec. 1 to Dec. 20. Traffic control people on site to assist. Free. No restrooms or other park facilities avialable during this event.

Brookswood Night of Lights: New location for neighbourhood celebration is the George Preston Recreation Centre. Festivities include Rudolph and Santa’s elf, raffle, barbecue, hot drinks, treats, prizes, kids activities, Santa letter writing, music, and more between 5 and 7 p.m. on Friday Dec. 1. Kids get free entry to the Langley Rivermen hockey game starting at 7:15 p.m. Info: Brookswood Village Facebook.

Santa photos and mini artisan market: From 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1, find vendors and photos at 2992 272nd St. Santa photos support the Aldergrove Food Bank. Book through Toy Central’s Facebook page. Walk-ins welcome.

Very Merry Market: Willowbrook Shopping Centre two-day festival is in the lot between Hudson’s Bay and Safeway from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1, and Saturday, Dec. 2. Market includes train rides, and a tree farm both benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Langley, a firefighter toy drive, an immersive snow globe, and an artisan market with 18 vendors. Magic of Christmas: Langley City’s community celebration is Saturday, Dec. 1, from noon to 6 p.m. in the Timms Community Centre, 20399 Douglas Cres. Ice carving, games, crafts for kids, Santa photos, and the Langley Arts Council artisan market (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.).

Holly Luncheon and Bazaar: United Churches of Langley, 21562 Old Yale Rd., is the site for the annual bazaar taking place 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, with home baking, preserves, artisan crafts, jewelry, and more. Lunch for $10.

Alpacas and Artisans Holiday Market: Kensington Prairie Farm, 1736 248th St., has a special event 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, and Sunday, Dec. 3. In addition to vendors, and the chance to see the alpacas, there’s visits from Santa between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., and face painting between 2 and 4 p.m. Food trucks on site. Hourly alpaca information sessions. Day pass: $7.50. Weekend pass: $14. Children five and younger admitted free.

Holiday Market: Lynn Fripps Elementary market includes 50 vendors showcasing homemade products and hot chocolate for shoppers. Entry is by donation. Door prizes, a cash concession has hot and cold drinks, home baking, and hot dogs. Stop by 21020 83rd Ave. between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2.

Fort Langley Tree Lighting: On Saturday, Dec. 2, enjoy the Langley Community School Children’s Choir at 5 p.m. followed by Santa’s arrival at 5:30 p.m. via canoe on Bedford Channel. Santa leads the procession to the Fort Langley Community Hall for the lighting and evening of entertainment as well as hot chocolate and candy canes.

The Wooden Angel: Christmas story set in 1908 is on stage at Bez Arts Hub, 20230 64th Ave., at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 2. Performed by storyteller Jason Hildebrand and songwriter Russ Rosen. Tickets: $30. Info: bezartshub.com.

Christmas Market and Photos with Santa: Glenwood Elementary, 20785 24th Ave., has more than 60 vendors, food truck and concession, face painting, raffles, door prizes, activities for children, and more between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2. 115th annual bazaar: St. George’s Anglican Church, 9160 Church St. in Fort Langley, has its long-running bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. when people will find baking, canning, bric-a-brac, Christmas wreath making, and children’s crafts. Homemade lunch available.

Santa Shuffle: Sign up for the fundraising event (five kilometre run or one-kilometre elf walk) taking place Saturday, Dec. 2 at Blacklock Fine Arts Elementary, 5100 206th St., benefiting the Salvation Army Willows Family Centre. Pet and people photos with Santa: Between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, and Sunday, Dec. 3, people can bring their pets to Art’s Nursery, 8940 192nd St., for by donation photos benefiting the Lower Mainland Humane Society (formerly the Dhana Metta Rescue Society). Sounds of the Season: Peace Arch Chorus barbershop-style show is at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3, at the Langley Presbyterian Church, 20867 44th Ave. Special guests include Wild Applause and Altitude. Admission by donation. Event includes a 50/50 draw, gift basket draws, and a wine pull with post-show refreshments.

Holiday card making: Ages 13 and older can head to the Murrayville Library, 22071 48th Ave., for a craft session with supplies and warm drinks provided. The session is 6 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 4, and requires advance registration at fvrl.bc.ca.

Winter Wonderland and Toy Drive: Inclusion Langley Society invites the public to enjoy its drive through decorated site, 23535 44th Ave., from noon to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7, for lights, inflatables,and costumed greeters. Park and enjoy music, treats, visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and more. People are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy or gift for youth, gift card, or money for the Langley Christmas Bureau.

First Christmas Experience: Interactive event for the whole family tells the story of the first Christmas. Free admission to the event which runs 6 to 9 p.m. from Dec. 8 to 10 at Christmas Life Assembly, 21277 56th Ave. Hour-long tour with hot chocolate and cookies after as well as a vendor market (cash only), and activities and crafts for kids.

Annual Children’s Christmas Party: Aldergrove Elks party is 2 to 5 p.m. at the Aldergrove Legion, 26607 Fraser Hwy., on Saturday, Dec. 9, and includes a princess, face painting, magic show, balloon twisting, refreshments, and more.

Christmas Farmers Market: Langley Community Farmers Market holiday market is 3 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Derek Doubleday Arboretum, 21177 Fraser Hwy. Vendors, treats, a hot chocolate fundraiser, kids crafts, and more.

‘Tis the Season: Opus One Women’s Choir presents an afternoon of Christmas favourites and contemporary seasonal music at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 10, in the United Churches of Langley Murrayville site, 21562 Old Yale Rd. Advance tickets: from members or opusonewomenschoir@gmail.com. Remaining tickets available at the door. $20 for adults, $18 for seniors, and free for students.

Orpheus Men’s Choir: Group performs at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, 20955 Old Yale Rd., at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 10. Special guests includes classical violinist Kira Gill, and Nandini Singh, both from the Langley Community Music School. Advance tickets: vancouverorpheus.org. Christmas Tales - Fireside Edition: True stories woven together with seasonal choir and solo performances by the Bez Gospel Choir. Show is at 6:30 or 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 15, at Bez Arts Hub, 20230 64th Ave. Tickets: $30. Info: bezartshub.com.

Light up Parade and party: The party starts at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, at the Plaza, Fraser Highway and 272nd Street, with Santa and Mrs. Claus, entertainment, complimentary hot dogs and juice from the Aldergrove Rotary Club, a North Pole mailbox (write letters to Santa), a photo booth, and giveaways. Bring a non-perishable food donation for the food bank. Then at 6 p.m. there’s the parade on Fraser Highway between 270th and 273rd Streets. All free.

Themes of Christmas: Langley Ukulele Ensemble concerts are at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, at the Chief Sepass Theatre, Fort Langley. Show included seasonal music, carols, a video presentation narrating the Christmas story and more. Tickets: $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and students 13 and older, and $12 for those 12 and younger (not including service fees/taxes). Available on eventbrite.ca (event 746461555607).

Yuletide, a concert by Kentucky Eileen: Folk quartet’s 8 p.m. concert is on Saturday, Dec. 16, at Bez Arts Hub. Show features holiday classics as well as some of the band’s original works. Tickets: $39. Info: bezartshub.com.

First Capital Chorus: Benefit performance for the Langley Christmas Bureau is at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, at Willoughby Christian Reform Church, 20525 72nd Ave. Secial guests include the Langley Children’s Choir, Peace Arch Chorus, and the 2023 Community Christmas Chorus. Martini Town Merry and Bright: Local film set dressed up for the holidays and open to the public Wednesday through Sunday during December and includes Jan. 1. Live music, Santa visits, carolling, regional choirs, entertainment, lights, treats, and local vendors. Tickets (add GST): $22 for 13 and older, $12 for six to 12, $18 for 65 and older, and $60 for a family pack (two adults and two kids under 13). Must be purchased in advance. No gate sales. Glow Langley: Gardens turned into family light festival at 6690 216th St. Enjoy games, food trucks, heated spaces, a vendors’ market, scavenger hunt, crafts, prizes, and more. Open 4 to 10 p.m. daily until Dec. 30. Book: glowgardens.com. Tickets: $24 for adults, $18.50 for ages four to 12 and those 65 and older, and $79.50 for family of two adults and up to three children or seniors. Check website for special days and discounts.
