Old is New; Langley artist’s work reflects life’s changes

Melissa H. Clark will host exhibit and sale of work this weekend

Old is New, an exhibition and sale of artwork by Langley artist Melissa H. Clark will take place on Saturday,  Oct. 18 and Sunday, Oct. 19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day at 4860 203 St.

Among the work that will be for sale will be portfolio prints, drawings and matted photographs. There will also be pottery, selected paintings, framed prints and photographs

“It has been two and a half years since I have picked up a paint brush,” said Clark.

“Along with a busy schedule, life threw me some curve balls. Two devastating health scares dominated any spare time, while today I still continue to be monitored.

“Changes to the way I live have given me some time to pursue painting again which has allowed me a different perspective towards my art work.

“I see my collection of paintings need to be rejuvenated as I have gained a physical restoration.  The essence of a painting remains however with a splash of colour, an altered background, the old is new.”
