Langley Community Music School (LCMS) is once again hosting its annual Family Intro to Music Night, coming up next week.
The open house is on Tuesday, March 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the school’s Rose Gellert Hall.
This popular family event is free and features a children’s performance at 7 p.m. with percussionist Bruce Henczel performing rhythms from around the world.
The evening will also include student performances, plus hands-on opportunities to hear, touch, and try a wide variety of instruments – from cellos to trumpets and everything in between, said LCMS principal Carolyn Granholm.
“We are very happy to invite the community to join us for this special tradition,” she said.
“This is a fun night for everyone to come out, enjoy live music and learn more about the different instruments that we will have set up to try,” Granholm added.
This is also a great opportunity to meet the teachers, take a tour of the facilities, and get information about the diverse music programs available for all abilities and ages ranging from early learning to pre-professional and adults.
“We look forward to meeting everyone, answering any questions you may have, and sharing music with new friends.”

This is LCMS’s third in a series of free children’s concerts and community events this year.
It also has a community day open house on May 4, and Tunes for Tots on May 7 with the Rose Gellert String Quartet.
