Downtown Langley City suffered a power failure Thursday morning, with about 2,275 BC Hydro customers without electricity for a time.

The power went out around 7:38 a.m. and was still off just before 9 a.m., through much of the morning rush hour.

The power failure affected properties west of Eastleigh Crescent, around the Langley Bypass, and north of 52nd Avenue, and out to Landmark Way.

Not all properties in the general area were without power.

BC Hydro reported online that crews were on scene before 9 a.m., and the cause was under investigation.
