A bear spray attack and the theft of an electric scooter in Aldergrove late Sunday night may have involved local youths, Langley RCMP said.

The incident took place around 11:30 p.m. near 272nd Street and Fraser Highway, around the vicinity of the 7-Eleven outlet, said Sgt. Barry Beales.

One adult was hit with bear spray, and a scooter was taken during the altercation.

Beales said the incident seems to involve an argument between youths in the area.

“The parties are known to each other,” Beales said of the victim and the other suspected participants.

Police are also looking at social media posts made by people who were allegedly present at the incident.

As of Monday morning, no arrests had been made, Beales said.

Anyone with information on what happened is asked to call the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200, or to leave an anonymous tip, call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
