Just days ahead of the Vancouver Football Club’s Mother’s Day game at home, the Langley-based pro soccer team has added its latest member to the roster.
Vancouver FC (a.k.a. the Eagles) signed international defender Allan Enyou, who joins the club on a one-year loan from C.D. Leganes B of Spain’s Segunda division, shared head coach Afshin Ghotbi.
“Highly recruited and possessing world-class potential, Allan will add to the already improved defense of VFC,” Ghotbi said.
“Including inspired internationals such as Allan, Moses, and Jose to our group, who have a hunger to grow both on and off the pitch, creates a competitive environment that drives positive development for the entire squad,” added the coach.
Enyou will be eligible to compete in his first VFC game this Sunday, May 12, when the team takes on Ottawa on the home pitch at Willoughby Stadium.
The 20-year-old comes from C.D. Leganes B, which he joined in February 2023.
The native of Uganda made his professional debut for the Spanish-side three months later in a 1-0 victory over U.D. Melilla. In July, Enyou went on loan to SK Super Nova of Virslīga (Latvian Higher League), where he received first-team experience before returning to Leganes at the end of the year.
Prior to his move to Europe, Enyou signed his first professional contract with Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) of Uganda’s Premier League in July 2022.
He also spent time with Elite Falcons FC of United Arab Emirates (UAE) Division Two, first on loan from KCCA FC, before transferring permanently at the beginning of 2023.
“Allan has pace, power, and football intelligence to give us versatility and depth in the backline. I look forward to Allan’s contributions and growth at VFC in 2024,” said Ghotbi.

For his country, Enyou was called up to Uganda’s U-20 provisional 50-man roster in January 2023 ahead of the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt that year. He was also named to Uganda’s provisional 50-man roster for the senior Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers in May 2023 prior to the country’s qualifying match against Algeria in June.
“I am very excited to represent Vancouver FC and play in Canada this year,” said Enyou.
“I’m very grateful for the opportunities I’ve had up to this point, and I’m looking forward to gaining first team experience with VFC.”
Enyou will be eligible to compete in Sunday’s game against Atletico Ottawa, which is VFC’s first Pink Party in celebration of maternal-figures within Vancouver’s community and beyond.
