1 dead after shooting in Burnaby: RCMP

Police say the shooting is believed to be targeted, with no further risk to the public

A man is dead after a targeted shooting in Burnaby Tuesday night, RCMP say.

Officers were responding to multiple reports of shots fired in the 5500-block of Kingsway, near Denbigh Avenue, around 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 23, when they found a man suffering from “serious gunshot wounds.” He died at the scene.

Burnaby RCMP say that investigators believe the shooting was targeted and there is no further risk to the public from this incident.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been called in.

Police are now looking for witnesses or anyone with video in the area of Kingsway and Denbigh Avenue on Jan. 23, between 9 and 11 p.m.
