An air ambulance lands at Parkside Elementary in Aldergrove on Tuesday afternoon. The victim is believed to have been stabbed.

A 15-year-old Langley boy was arrested and charged for a stabbing that took place in an Aldergrove church parking lot on Tuesday, March 18.

The teen, who is well known to police, was charged with assault with a weapon and aggravated assault for stabbing a 19-year-old in the back. The stabbing came after the 15-year-old is accused of breaking the victim’s car window with a crowbar. At the time, there were four friends inside the victim’s car.

The victim got out of his vehicle and a confrontation resulted in the 19-year-old being stabbed, said police.

Both parties have known each other for years. A tit-for-tat relationship  recently escalated into this confrontation, said police. An air ambulance landed in the nearby Parkside Elementary school grounds and took the victim to hospital. He has serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect fled in a vehicle but was later arrested.

He has since been released from jail with a number of conditions. He makes his next court appearance on April 2.
