A 40-year-old man who went missing on a trip to Chilliwack has been found dead.

Kent Mantler was reported missing by his family last month, and Chilliwack RCMP announced on April 5 that they found his body.

“The 40-year-old man who was reported missing on March 8, 2024 has sadly been located deceased. The cause of his death is not considered suspicious,” Cpl. Carmen Kiener wrote in a press release.

He was travelling from Vancouver to a friend’s place in Chilliwack the last time he was heard from. Mantler’s body was found in the Kootenays after Telus workers spotted his vehicle off a cliff, according to a family member.

“The RCMP offers its condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.”
