41-year-old woman dead, man arrested following homicide in Abbotsford

Incident happened at residence on Wagner Drive; homicide investigation team called in

A woman is dead and a man has been arrested following a homicide in Abbotsford Friday night.

Abbotsford Police we called to a report of an assault in progress at a residence in the 3400-block of Wagner Drive around 10:50 p.m. on March 15.

When officers arrived, they found a 41-year-old woman suffering from life-threatening injuries. Life saving efforts were provided, however she succumbed to her injuries.

A 50-year-old man, who was known to the victim, was arrested at the scene. He remains in police custody.

The investigation is in the preliminary stages, and the Abbotsford Police Major Crime Unit will be transitioning the investigation to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).
