Langley’s Brett Lawrie has been traded to the Oakland As by the Toronto Blue Jays.

The trade was announced late Friday night. Lawrie and three minor leaguers were traded for Josh Donaldson, 28, a top player in the American League. Both Lawrie and Donaldson play third base.

Lawrie came to the Blue Jays in 2011 in a trade from the Milwaukee Brewers. He had an impressive start with the lone Canadian team in Major League Baseball, but has struggled with injuries in the past two seasons.
