Firefighters responded to a call on Fraser Highway near 248 St. Tuesday morning. Traffic was blocked off for several hours.

An electrical fire in a machine started a fire at a small lumber business that shut down Fraser Highway between 244 to 248 Street on Tuesday morning.

Langley Township fire department went out to the blaze around 8:15 a.m. Assistant fire chief Bruce Ferguson said flames were shooting through the roof of one of the lumber yard's buildings when they arrived.

Firefighters managed to contain the fire to just the roof.

"There were no injuries and to re-roof the building will be about $15,000," said Ferguson. The highway was re-opened after 10 a.m.
