A Chilliwack man named earlier this year as one of B.C.’s top 10 auto crime offenders has been arrested in Abbotsford for the second time this year.

Shaun Darryl Bolko was arrested last Tuesday in a joint operation involving the Chilliwack RCMP property crime section, the Abbotsford Police Department crime reduction unit, and the Integrated Municipal Auto Crime Team.

The Chilliwack RCMP say Bolko was arrested in Abbotsford inside a Ford F-350 pickup stolen earlier in the day in Chilliwack. He was also wanted on a warrant from Coquitlam.

The arrest was the culmination of an investigation that took police from Chilliwack to Langley, and finally to Abbotsford.

In March, just days after being included on a list of B.C.’s most prolific auto thieves, Bolko was arrested in Abbotsford earlier this year on an outstanding warrant for possession of a stolen vehicle.

Police at the time said he was “in the vicinity of a stolen Ford F-250 at the time of his arrest.”

In May, he was arrested in Chilliwack for allegedly possessing a stolen Ford F-350. That case remains before the courts

Ford F-Series trucks were the most stolen vehicle in B.C. in 2013.

Bolko has more than 15 criminal charges dating back to 2001, mainly in Chilliwack for offences such as assault, impaired driving, possession of stolen property, and possession of a controlled substance.
