No injuries in fourplex fire in Aldergrove

Cause ‘undetermined’

An early morning fire sent smoke billowing high over the area near the Aldergrove Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre on Tuesday, April 2. But, it appeared damage was limited to a carport in a nearby fourplex, according to eyewitness comments posted online.

Township Deputy Fire Chief Russ Jenkins said the call came in around 6:48 a.m. and five fire vehicles were dispatched to the area of 270th Street and 30th Avenue to extinguish the flames in a “detached garage/shed type of structure at the rear of the property.”

There were no injuries.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Jenkins said the cause of the blaze remained “undetermined at this point.”
