A two-vehicle crash on 56 Avenue at the 240 Street intersection in Langley left a minivan flipped on its side Saturday morning.
Police said a VW sedan heading northbound on 240 Street apparently failed to stop and collided with a westbound Pontiac minivan around 9 a.m.
Three children in the van were shaken up but otherwise uninjured.
A paramedic could be observed comforting one of the kids by handing them a plush Dalmatian toy that was wearing a fire helmet.
56 Avenue was closed to traffic while police, fire and ambulance were on the scene.
The driver of the VW, a 57-year-old Langley woman, was issued a ticket for driving without due care and attention.
The ticket carries a fine of $368 plus six points that will add $300 in Driver Penalty Point (DPP) premiums.
There were also some ducks and chicken in the minivan, and one duck did not survive, the police report noted.
