The Abbotsford Rural Ratepayers Advocacy Group will host a general meeting with six Abbotsford City council candidates on Nov. 9, 7 p.m. at Bradner Community Hall, 5305 Bradner Rd.
This meeting will feature six Abbotsford Civic Council candidates who are seeking first term positions on city council. The invited candidates are Henry Braun, Doris Woodman-McMillan, Lynn Perrin, Mark Rushton, Aird Flavelle and Kevin Chapman.
“We have chosen not to invite any incumbent councillors or mayoralty candidates,” said a news release.
“Hosting an all-candidates meeting is an option that was discussed and rejected by us. Historically, nothing gets done and hearing from 18 to 20 candidates leaves little to no time for questions and answers.”
The group has asked the candidates to keep speeches to five minutes. Daren Alary will be the moderator.
