A pair of Surrey residents – including one teen – are among three individuals charged this week in connection with a year-long investigation into a violent home invasion and kidnapping in East Vancouver.
According to a news release, the investigation began on March 11, 2023, after four people were taken from their family home in East Vancouver, driven outside of Vancouver and held hostage.

Vancouver Police Sgt. Steve Addison said the arrests of three suspects followed “months (of) collecting and methodically analyzing evidence in this case.”
The B.C. Prosecution Service has approved charges of break-and-enter and kidnapping against Duoth Techen Garkouth, 19, of Surrey, as well as a 17-year-old Surrey youth, who cannot be identified.
Ramadhan Ibrahim-Hussein, 19, of Richmond, is also charged.
Ibrahim-Hussein and the 17-year-old were arrested in Surrey on April 3; Garkouth was arrested yesterday (April 10) in New Westminster.
