Channing Tatum is one of a select handful of celebrities who are getting first dibs on Twitter's new profile look – a little more Facebook-ish

Twitter is overhauling its users' profiles, giving it a little more of a Facebook-y feel and giving handlers larger photos and feeds.

"Moment by moment, your Twitter profile shows the world who you are," said Twitter, in a press release on Tuesday. "Starting today, it will be even easier (and, we think, more fun) to express yourself through a new and improved web profile."

Right now, the new look (see below) is only available for new Twitter users or for a select handful of celebrities, including American First Lady Michelle Obama, actor Channing Tatum, and boxer Floyd Mayweather, among others.

The rest of us normal Twitter folk are expected to receive the new profiles in the next couple weeks, the company says.

New features include: Best Tweets, which will allow your most popular posts to appear bigger than the rest; Pinned Tweets, which will allow you to keep your favourite, self-chosen posts at the top of your profile; and Filtered Tweets, which will give users greater customization of what they see when they go to other users' pages.

As mentioned above, the new look is similar to the feel you get on Facebook, with its wider, browser-covering cover photos and its small square profile pics.

Trends for your selected area will not be located on the right side of your page, as will the list of Who You Follow.
