Ella MacPherson known to friends and family as Maude passed away on Jan 18 2020 at the age of 102.
A native of Saskatchewan she graduated as a teacher and taught school in McLean Sask. This is where she met her beloved husband Hughie. They were married for sixty-eight years.
Upon their retirement they moved from Vancouver to Aldergrove. Maudie then threw her abundant energy into her community.She was an active member of the O.A.P. and worked in their thrift shop for many years. She was also a member of the Veterans and Seniors and was a member of the congregation of the United church. Most importantly she wrote the seniors column in the Aldergrove Star for over twenty years well into her nineties. She was given the outstanding service to the community award in 1998. Everywhere she went she spread her joy. She always expressed her love of Aldergrove and its citizens.
Maudie will be remembered by her son Ken(Darlene)and daughter Karen(Jim). She will also be fondly remembered by her five grand children, her nine great grandchildren and nieces and nephews throughout Canada.
There will be an announcement regarding a memorial service at a later date when travelling is easier for family members.
