In Loving Memory ~
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Heather Logan on January 12, 2024, following a valiant seven-year battle with ovarian cancer. Heather, born and raised in Langley on May 12, 1954, was a beacon of strength and grace throughout her life and especially during her illness.
Heather dedicated over 40 years of her life to serving others as a respected service representative at the Royal Bank of Canada. Her commitment to her work was only surpassed by her devotion to her family.
She often said she spaced her children Richard & Ashley 15 years apart out of a deep love, wanting to ensure each child received ample affection and care. This sentiment was a testament to Heather's generous, kind, and loving nature.
As a mother, Heather was unparalleled, embodying strength and resilience. She faced seven years of chemotherapy with unwavering courage and without complaint, all the while maintaining her role as the pillar of our family. Her love for her family and grandchildren knew no bounds, and this love was her guiding force. Heather also cherished her nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, loving them as her own children.
In retirement, Heather discovered a passion for dragon boating, embracing the sport wholeheartedly. She also cherished her daily walks with neighbours, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life.
Heather and her beloved husband, Don, who predeceased her in April 2023, retired in 2016 to Vernon, living on the serene Okanagan Lake. They adored the relaxed pace of life there, the warmth of their new community, and the joy of hosting family and grandchildren.
Heather leaves behind a void in our family that cannot be filled. Her entire family & all her friends will miss her more than words could describe. Her absence has left a hole in our hearts that will never fully heal.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Langley Palliative Home Care Team, Langley Hospice, and the MAiD team for their compassionate care and support.
In accordance with Heather's wishes, there will be no public celebration of life. A small family gathering will be held to honour her memory.
In lieu of flowers, Heather's true giving nature shines through as she would prefer donations be made to the Starfish Packs through the Langley Rotary Sunrise Club, which helps feed local Langley kids over the weekend. Please reach out to Ashley ( 604-999-4341 or ashleychalmersrealtor@gmail.com ) for details on how to make a donation.
Heather's memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew her. As we bid farewell, we find comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her dearly missed husband, Don.
