Lawrence Arthur White—husband, father, friend, exceptional man — passed on November 10th, 2020. Larry was predeceased by his sons Bradley and Gordon.
He is survived by his wife Patricia, son Daniel (Maureen); daughters-in-law Margaret and Deborah, grandchildren Sadie, Cameron, Jessica, Spencer, Raewyn, Allie, Jennifer, Jordan, and Kimberley as well several great-grandchildren.
Larry was born in Nelson, BC, and grew up in Vancouver with his mother, Anna. He met Pat in 1949 and they were married in 1952. Larry and Pat settled in Burnaby and raised their three sons enjoying the outdoors camping, fishing and various other sports.
Larry was a firefighter with the Vancouver Fire Department where he achieved the rank of Captain. He retired in the mid 1980's after which he and Pat spent much of their time at their cabin in Washington state, enjoying entertaining many friends and family.
For the last 30 plus years, Larry lived at Riverwynde in Langley where he was the resident handyman as well as a social staple, participating in weekly Wizard, crib, and shuffleboard tournaments.
Larry had great zest for life, with a booming voice and great big laugh. He loved a good story or joke and was curious about everything. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Due to current circumstances a Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
