Aldergrove Minor Baseball's peewee boys had a great weekend of ball with a pair of wins and one loss.

It wasn't enough to put Aldergrove into the semi-finals but it was a solid team effort.

Aldergrove hosted the 16-team 13U Peewee AA John Main Tournament, May 21-24, at Aldergrove Athletic Park.

Aldergrove lost their opening game, 9-11, against Kelowna on Friday night but went on to defeat Burnaby 10-5 and Newton 16-5 the next day.

Burnaby also won two besides the loss to Aldergrove but their points were higher so they on to their semi-final win 4-1 over Coquitlam-Moody. The Vancouver team won all three games and their semi-final win over North Delta, 10-2, made the final game a battle between Burnaby and Vancouver.

Abbotsford also fared well with a pair of wins over Duncan and Tsawwassen and a tie with Coquitlam-Moody.

Aldergrove's team roster is Wes Winning, Cooper Crompton, Jaden Lamothe, Jacob Sedun, Caleb Kaufmann, Tyson Ardell, Alex Lanigan, Logan Knight, Aaron Esau, Elias Baker, Caden Welch and Kaden Zischka.

This BC Baseball heritage tournament is limited to one team plus pick-ups from each association entered in four pools, and so this tournament featured the top 13U Peewee talent in the province on four fields over four days.

With four 13U Peewee fields available at Aldergrove Athletic Park, this is only the second time in the tournament's history that one association has been able to host all of the games.

The four pools included teams from Kelowna, North Delta, Duncan, Burnaby, Vancouver Minor, Chilliwack, Coquitlam-Moody, Aldergrove, Ladner, Cloverdale, Abbotsford, Newton, Richmond, Nanaimo, Tsawwassen and Kamloops.
