Aldergrove’s Sarah Potomak has been invited to Canada’s national U18 team selection camp next month.
The camp takes place Dec. 10 to 14 at the North Wentworth Arena in Hamilton, Ont.
She is one of just two B.C. players among the 28 invited to the camp, which will determine the 23 players who will represent Canada at the 2015 IIHF ice hockey U18 women’s world hockey championships in January.
They will be held in Buffalo, N.Y.
Potomak is no stranger to representing Canada.
She played for her country in a three-game series against the United States, serving as an assistant captain.
She also attended Canada’s national women’s fall festival in September and helped Canada’s U18 team win gold at the U18 women’s world championships in Budapest.
Potomak, who turns 18 on Dec. 19, currently attends the Pursuit of Excellence Hockey Academy in Kelowna.
She is set to attend the University of Minnesota on scholarship next year.
